I used to love the Forsyte Saga with Damien Lewis as Soames - I used to think he was brilliant - although Soames was very anal and seemed like he had a pole up his backside! Brilliant though. I remember the characters just not their names but I know I also liked Young Jolyon. But have to say Soames was always my favourite.
He's in Stephen King's Dreamcatcher, you know the one with aliens bursting out of peoples bottoms hehe:P
